Saved For God’s Purpose

“Who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father.”
— Galatians 1:4

Living for God’s purpose changes how we see a broken world. Cruelty, temptation, tragedy, deception, murder, and exploitation surround us. At one time, that world captured us and pulled us along with its desires. But God stepped in and rescued us for His purpose—a rescue at the heart of Paul’s message to the Galatians.

Because of Jesus, we have hope stored up in heaven. From the beginning, God planned to save us through the blood of His Son. Even the animal God slew in the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve sinned points us forward to Jesus.

Through what Jesus accomplished at the cross, God rescued us from the power of this present evil age. This deliverance from sin and its rule is central to the biblical meaning of redemption. He has not taken us out of the world, but He has freed us from its rule.

A Life Set Apart

God saved us for a purpose—His purpose. That means we are not meant to keep chasing the same pleasures and values the world runs after. When worldly desires shape our choices more than God’s Word, our hearts begin to drift.

But when we choose to live for God, He grows His character in us. We begin to show:

• Love — God calls us to love our haters, even when it is difficult, because love pleases Him.
• Humility — We learn to come before God honestly and depend on His grace each day.
• Compassion — We begin to see people more like Jesus sees them and respond with care.
• Kindness — We show love, offer forgiveness, and let our faith be seen in everyday choices.

So let me ask you: Does your life show gratitude because Christ freed you from the world’s control? Have you shifted your loyalty from this world to Christ? Do you understand that God saved you on purpose and for His purpose?

If your answer is “yes,” then you know your life belongs to Him. If you are still wrestling with that, remember this: No one forced Jesus to die for you. The Father did not make His innocent and holy Son suffer against His will.

Jesus willingly gave Himself. He endured the shame of the cross and completed the great work of atonement.

God’s Salvation Plan

God’s salvation plan is not something we simply hear about and move past. It calls for a response of faith. Here are a few ways we can respond to what He has done:

• Share the Good News: When we receive God’s salvation, we should tell others what He has done. We can invite them to experience His transforming love (Mark 5:18-19).
• Accept Jesus: We receive Jesus as Savior. We recognize that His sacrifice is the only way we are redeemed and brought back to God.
• Repent: We turn away from sin and choose a life that lines up with God’s will.
• Trust God: We believe His promises and follow His plan, even when we do not understand every step.
• Obey Him: We show our love for God through the choices we make and the way we live.

God formed His plan for your life according to His divine purpose and carried it out through His holy will. Because His will is good, you can trust Him with your life.

So today, take another step of faith. Walk in the purpose He has given you.

Prayer

Take a quiet moment to thank Jesus for His saving grace and ask Him to help you live each day for His purpose.

Lord Jesus, thank You for redeeming me. Thank You for loving me even when I did not deserve it. Thank You for rescuing me from sin and giving my life purpose. Help me stay close to You, and honor You in the way I live. Help me walk faithfully in all You have called me to do. Amen.
