No Fear of Trouble

“They will not be afraid of bad news.
    They are confident because they trust in the Lord.”
— Psalm 112:7

Having no fear of trouble is possible when faith and trust are strong, as the Psalm reflects.

Psalm 112:7 gives a clear mark of the righteous. They are not afraid of bad news because they trust in the Lord. People who know their God can have no fear of trouble. Their confidence is not in the stability of this world, but in the faithfulness of God.

Trouble may come. Reports may sound frightening. But faith looks past the report and rests in the One who rules over it.

Those without God have no sure refuge in the day of trouble. But believers have tasted His goodness. They know the power of His Word and can stand firm when fear rises.

But we, as believers, are of another spirit. We have been born again into the family of Yahweh. Our heart’s desire is for heavenly things, not for the things of this earth that are passing away.

Fear should not preoccupy our hearts as it does the unbelieving person. Faith teaches us to look beyond the report. It teaches us to behold the God who rules over every circumstance.

If fear does rule your heart, examine your walk. Are you truly following Jesus as His disciple, or only standing as a member of a Church?

When Bad News Comes, Have No Fear

Bad news may come in many forms. It may come through sickness, lack, persecution, family trouble, or sudden loss. Yet God’s promise does not change with the report.

The believer who trusts in the Lord can have no fear of bad news. God remains a refuge, a shield, and a present help in trouble.

At the sound of bad news, the ungodly murmur and rebel against God. But People who know their God have no fear of bad news. God does not give a fearful spirit, but a spirit of love (2 Timothy 1:7).

Unbelievers often resort to wrong means to escape trouble. When trouble arises, trust in the Lord. Wait patiently for Him. Do as Moses did at the Red Sea: “Stand still and see the salvation of God.”

You must know and believe that God moves according to your faith.

Therefore, magnify the Lord and have no fear of trouble. Do not let fear rule your heart or weaken you in the day of adversity. Take courage, trust the faithfulness of our covenant God, and let your heart be established in His promises: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Father, establish my heart in Your promises. Teach me to trust You when bad news comes. Help me have no fear of trouble. Let my confidence rest in Your faithfulness, not in what I see or hear. Strengthen me to stand still, believe Your Word, and glorify You in every trial. In Jesus’ name, amen.
