“But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works.”
— James 2:18 NET
Today, you can unlock the power of God’s promises by taking action in faith and discover how working the word can change your life. When we search the Scriptures, we learn that God embeds His promises in His written word. Have you ever wondered what would truly happen if you were to put the scriptures to work? Many people believe that receiving God’s promises only requires faith. Having faith in God’s Word is one thing, but working the Word of God is another. You must add work to your faith to make it effective.
God has written His promises throughout the entire Bible. 2 Corinthians 1:20 informs us that it doesn’t matter how many promises God has made; they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. What that means is that God never says no to His promise. God gave us His promises through Christ. For this reason, He associates the pardon of sin with the one who seeks forgiveness. In addition, God’s promises ensure the sanctification of His people, provide support in times of temptation and trial, offer guidance in perplexity, bring peace in death, and promise eternal life beyond the grave. God made all of these through our Redeemer, Jesus Christ; therefore, none of His promises shall fail.
Incorporate Scripture in Everyday Living
The most effective way to work the Word of God is to incorporate it into your everyday life. We do this by:
Praying
Start your day with prayer. Ask God to make your heart receptive to His Word. Ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. Pray that the Lord strengthen you with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience (Colossians 1:9-11). Praying this way will motivate you to work the Word of God daily.
Reading the Bible
You should make reading the Bible a daily priority, just as you would your meals, as it adds life to your spirit. When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, He quoted Deuteronomy 8:3: “Man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” Reading the Bible is also a great way to get acquainted with God. Through reading the Scriptures, we learn God’s character, will, and plan for our lives. In addition, we also discover the depth of God’s love for humanity.
Meditating on Scripture
Meditating on God’s Word is a great way to work the Word in your life, as it brings inner peace. God promises to give you perfect peace provided you meditate on His word (Isaiah 26:3). In addition to peace, meditating on God’s Word will strengthen your faith and boost your spiritual growth.
Declaring God’s Word Over Your Life
Believing faith speaks; therefore, faith that believes also speaks. Determine today that you will only declare faith-filled words over your life rather than words that produce death. Stop saying things like “My back is killing me,” and “I guess I’m never going to get out of debt.” Don’t let your own negative declarations take root in your life.
Start declaring over your life what God’s word says: “As He is, so am I in this world.” Is Jesus sick? Then neither are you. You are not ill because Jesus was wounded for your transgressions and He was bruised for your iniquities. The chastisement for your peace was upon Him, and by His stripes (the beating that he took before He was crucified), you are healed (Isaiah 53:5). You will pay off your debt because God has promised to supply all of your needs (Philippians 4:19).
You must remember God’s promises and speak them over your life. Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Therefore, be mindful of what you say, for what you say will come to pass. You are what you think you are (Proverbs 32:7).
Today, and every day, start saying and believing what God says about you. God says He has good plans and thoughts for you; plans for peace and well-being, and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 AMP). Remember, it doesn’t matter how many promises God has made; they are “Yes” in Christ. If you work the Word, the Word will work for you.

Amen … Faith without action is empty. When we live God’s Word daily, through prayer, reading, and doing, we show that our faith is alive and real. 🙏
Faith believes God. Therefore, when we pray we should react as though we have received, and we shall have the thing we asked for. Work the Word, and the Word will work for you.
