I’ve Been Thinking About You Lately!

Have you ever felt forgotten, as though someone you love has grown distant? Then imagine receiving a simple message that says, “I’ve been thinking about you lately.” It would lift your heart, wouldn’t it? In the same way, Scripture reminds us that God has not forgotten you. You are still on His mind, still in His care, and still held close by His unfailing love.

But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
— Isaiah 49:14-16 KJV

God will not forget you. As H.B. Charles Jr. points out from Isaiah 49:14–16, He’s thinking about you. He sees every tear that falls. He sees how desperately you have tried to fix things, but ended up disappointed. God sees the frustrations, the pains. He also sees your decision to wait for His solution despite the challenges. God sees, and He cares.

When Lazarus died, Jesus told Martha to roll away the stone. He told her that if she believed, she would see the glory of God.

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Roll Away the Stone

What if Jesus is asking you to roll away the stone? For Martha, the stone stood between her present grief and the miracle Jesus was about to reveal. For us, the stone may represent whatever keeps us from trusting Him fully—unbelief, fear, doubt, disobedience, self-will, or the need to understand everything before we obey. Like Martha, you may have questions. You may even feel unsure about what the Lord is asking. Still, Jesus invites you to believe. When you surrender the obstacle to Him and allow the stone to be moved, you make room to see the glory of God.

God has not forgotten you; He thinks of you all the time. Moreover, He is waiting for you! His promise not to fail remains timeless, irrespective of the situation. You might be going through dark moments. But even in your darkest hour, He is thinking about you. Often, your darkest hour is just a few steps away from light and glory. You must hold on to God’s unchanging hand, for daybreak is coming.

Think about the Lord Jesus when He hung on the cross. The enemy might whisper lies: “You see! Despite your obedience and desire to do His will, your God has forsaken you.” The devil is a liar; don’t believe him! God has not forsaken you.

Trust His Timing

When God seems silent, He is really not. He has promised to answer the prayer of faith, and He cannot lie. You must trust His word. The Word of God is full of promises and fulfilled prophecies. The Bible tells us that God honors His Word above all His name.

“…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

When God seems silent, He is:

• Working behind the scenes.
• Forging a path in the wilderness.
• Fighting battles on your behalf.
• Commissioning angels to operate on your behalf.
• Making provisions for your survival.

Today, be encouraged with this:

God has not forgotten you. He has good plans for your life. However, you must trust His timing. His timing always looks good on those who wait for Him.
