And it is he who will supply all your needs from his riches in glory because of what Christ Jesus has done for us.
— Philippians 4:19 TLB
In a world often marked by uncertainty and scarcity, today’s message: “Rely on the Supply” is a timely message of comfort and hope. Philippians 4:19 serves as a powerful reminder that when faced with needs, we should never panic. The reason is that our God is generous. He has not only promised to meet our requirements but also delights in our dependence on Him.
God Knows Your Needs
The Old Testament is bursting with assurances of God’s provision. They echo His unwavering commitment to us. Passages like “They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing” (Psalm 34:10), and “No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11) are divine testaments of His faithfulness to those who rely on Him to supply their needs. However, it is through the Gospel that we discover the intimate connection between our heavenly Father and us.
Everything that we receive from God rests on God’s love for His Son and His Son’s love for us. Jesus reveals that God not only knows our needs but anticipates them. Even before we articulate them in prayer, God knows our needs. When we understand this, it helps us to reflect on His profound loving care. God attends to the smallest details of all His creation, from insects to humanity.
Don’t Worry
There is no need to worry about your life. God takes care of the birds; He knows that they rely on His supply to sustain them. He takes care of the flowers and colors them with His magnificent glory. Trust that He will take care of you as well. Therefore, do not worry or be apprehensive because it won’t change anything for the better.
While God cherishes the birds and flowers, He treasures you even more. Our loving heavenly Father provides us with everything we need, sometimes before we ask. He supplies us with strength when we are weak and inner peace when we are distressed. When we rely on and trust Him, because of what Christ has done, He will supply all our needs through His riches in glory.
I acknowledge today that You, dear God, are my source when I have expended all of my resources. Thank you for Your provision in these uncertain times.
