“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.”
— Isaiah 43:18 ESV

God has performed wonderful and marvelous works for us in the past. But we should not consider those days as the only ways in which He can act. We should consider not limiting ourselves to past experiences alone, as it restricts our expectations. That is why you should not dwell on previous experiences. It will limit your expectations and understanding of what God is doing in your life at the moment. You must remain open to new possibilities and fresh movements of God, for God promised that a change is coming (Isaiah 43:19). Therefore, shift your focus from what has been to what can be. It will motivate a spirit of anticipation and faith. By faith, you can trust God to work in ways beyond what you’ve experienced before. Therefore, consider not being closed off to new changes.

Rather than focusing solely on the past, remain open to new possibilities and fresh movements of God. Don’t get stuck in outdated patterns of thought. By shifting your attention from what has been to what could be, you cultivate a spirit of anticipation and faith. This opens you up to the reality that God continues to work in ways that may go beyond anything you have experienced before.

Believe God for the Impossible

It’s easy to believe God for little things, like helping you pay the rent. But what about that business you’ve always wanted, or that house they told you that you could never afford? Did you ever consider that God can do that, too? Take Abraham, for example; he believed God would give him a son, and he did not waver in faith. God promised to make Abraham a father of nations, and Abraham believed Him. Romans 4:19-20 informs us that even though he was one hundred years old, Abraham did not consider his own body, nor did he think of the deadness of Sarah’s womb. Instead of wavering at the promise of God through unbelief, he was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.” All the more reason why Abraham tithed.

Embracing Change and New Opportunities

It only takes one idea from God to move you from despair to fulfillment. God is always on the move and does not remain in one place for too long. We often cling to habits, desiring to stay where we have previously experienced God’s blessings. It is natural to feel comfortable and become unproductive during good times. However, you should always consider new possibilities that God has in store for you in the future. Always be mindful that God opens doors of opportunity that no one can shut.

By resisting the urge to remain attached to the familiar, you position yourself to receive the unexpected blessings that God prepares for you. Letting go of past routines and successes enables you to step forward in faith, considering not only what is comfortable but also the unknown, trusting that each new day holds potential for growth and transformation. So beginning today, take no thought of your failures. Instead, consider how awesome our God is, and expect that He will do bigger and better things for you in the future.

When I consider Your greatness, dear God, it prompts me to praise. Therefore, I honor and praise You for the things You have done and are doing in my life. Thank You, Father.
