“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
— 2 Peter 3:13 NKJV
During the first month of this new year, let us desire to grow in grace. Grace has its roots in faith. Just as the roots of a tree are anchored in the earth, so does faith anchor our souls in Christ. Faith draws strength from God’s promises. In addition, faith cultivates every other spiritual benefit, nourishing within us love, humility, and devotion. Our faith in Christ enables us to receive a continual flow of grace. This grace empowers us to pursue holiness and view our challenges as opportunities to grow.
Receive Christ’s Dignity
2 Peter 3:13 encourages us to build a deeper relationship with Jesus. It will allow each day to be an opportunity for learning and spiritual growth. Furthermore, it will ignite your desire to grow in grace, God’s generous and undeserved favor. Grace is God’s loving kindness that He freely offers to everyone. God does not give us grace because of anything we have done, but simply out of His love. When we place our faith in Christ, we open our hearts to receive God’s grace.
Faith acts like the roots of a tree, anchoring us firmly in God’s truth and allowing His kindness and strength to flow into our lives. Just as a tree’s roots draw water and nutrients from the soil, so faith draws strength from God’s promises. When we encounter difficulties, faith enables us to see those challenges as opportunities rather than dilemmas. For example, imagine facing a stressful situation at work or school, or perhaps a conflict with a colleague or a demanding project. Instead of reacting with frustration or discouragement, you can choose to trust God and ask for His help. Doing this is a sign that you are growing in grace and wisdom. Through this act of faith, you will discover what it means to have patience while waiting on the Lord. You will learn to forgive and develop resilience—turning every challenge into moments of growth and grace.
Trust the Holy Spirit
Allow the Holy Spirit within you to enable you to grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. When we refuse the wisdom of Jesus, we also refuse His blessings. However, to know Him is eternal life, and to grow in His understanding increases happiness. As you yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit, your heart will become increasingly receptive to the deeper truths of Christ, and each day will bring fresh revelations of His grace and wisdom that will allow you to grow in grace.
Embracing this divine instruction ignites a hunger for a deeper communion with Jesus, drawing you ever closer to His heart and shaping your character to reflect His likeness. Let’s fill each moment of pursuit with anticipation, knowing that the journey into greater knowledge of our Lord is itself a blessing, for it transforms every circumstance into an opportunity to experience His presence and love more fully. Therefore, continue to grow up in Christ and press on with a steadfast spirit, allowing your desire for Christ to shape your intentions and actions, so that your walk with Him grows richer and more radiant with every step.
Father God, receive my prayers as fragrant aromas before Your throne. I desire to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Grant me grace to overcome the challenges ahead, and the wisdom not to look back.

Yes, we must listen to that “still, small voice” that speaks within. Thanks for visiting with me, Willie. As you would say, “Be blessed, and continue to be a blessing.”
