Trust the Training

“Let God train you, for he is doing what any loving father does for his children. Whoever heard of a son who was never corrected?”
— Hebrews 12:7 TLB

The situations in your life might seem burdensome right now. Still, you must trust the training God allows. Your life may feel broken because of the choices you’ve made or the circumstances beyond your control. You might even find yourself in a dry place because of the choices others made.

But burdensome situations, broken hearts, and dry places can become God’s best training grounds. It is in these places that we learn to trust His preparation. Hebrews 12:7 affirms that God trains us as a loving father trains his children.

Back when I was addicted to crack cocaine, life was difficult. My addiction led to divorce and separation from my children. There were days when I did not know what to do.

Yet I survived because I remembered what had been planted in me. My parents taught me to pray and read the Bible. Prayer is a direct line of communication with God. Reading the Bible provides spiritual revelation that can only come from Him.

Whenever I found myself in tight places, I relied on that spiritual foundation. Those painful experiences became a crucible for me. The Lord refined my character and equipped me for the battles ahead.

I learned resilience, compassion, and the unwavering truth about God. Even on the most difficult days, I discovered that God was preparing me. That is why I now see every test as part of spiritual training for the battles ahead.

Trust God’s Training in the Battle

We are soldiers in the Lord’s army. Soldiers must learn to rely on what they have been taught. Jesus is our commanding officer, and He calls us to faithful obedience.

From the boot camp of prayer to the battlefield of spiritual warfare, we may not always understand what He is developing in us. Yet we must respect our commanding officer. We must rely on what He has taught us and trust the training.

Life’s difficulties can make you think God is punishing you. God is not punishing you; He is preparing you. Therefore, if you trust His training, God will make a way.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, stand on your spiritual foundation. Our Heavenly Father uses hardship to teach us. He uses it to draw us closer and deepen our relationship with Him.

He has promised that He will never leave or forsake you. Our heavenly Father has also promised to supply all your needs. Therefore, rely on the supply of His provision. Be assured that when you trust the training, you can overcome every obstacle this day presents.

Heavenly Father, there are times when Your correction seems like rejection. Yet I choose to trust the training You are using to prepare me. Give me victory over every negative situation I may face today. Amen.

Thank you, for your encouragement.
These words bring light to our God as Father. A Father who love us and help us to understand that hard times or discipline will not change a Father’s love for his children.
