Do you feel like giving up on something, someone, or a problem that you can’t solve? Before you throw in the towel, throw your hands up and worship God. You have got to be good with not knowing all the details of what God is doing in your life. Remember that our God is a deliverer, and our praise touches His heart. Through the transformative power of praise and worship, God will deliver you. It makes no difference what you are going through; God can deliver you from your troubles. Whenever you praise God, your praise will motivate Him to show up, even in your darkest hour. And because He is faithful, He will deliver you.
Praise Begins with Prayer
Isaiah recognized that good things happen when he praised the Lord. Praising God often begins with a conversation with God. So, before you throw your hands up in disgust or abandonment, talk to God about your problem. You might be in the greatest storm that you have ever experienced. But if you throw your hands up and begin to worship God, you will discover that our God can comfort you in the storm and be a refuge in every storm that He does not calm, providing reassurance and comfort.
God is so good that He will prepare a feast for you amid your trouble. Lack becomes abundance in God’s hands, lifting you and giving you hope. Don’t let the cares of life wear you down. Whatever you do, do not throw in the towel. Throw your hands up and worship God. Anything that troubles you today, give it to God. Exchange your anxieties for His peace. Isaiah said, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3). Jesus gave us a gift before He ascended to the Father. He said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27 TLB).
Dear Lord, today, I give you my anxieties and receive your gift of peace. Because I trust You, I will not throw in the towel, but I will lift my hands and worship You. Keep me in Your perfect peace throughout this day. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
