Why Praise and Worship Matter

Praise and Worship Draw Us Closer to God

Praise and worship draw us closer to God and help us begin each day with thankful hearts. In fact, Scripture invites us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, reminding us that worship begins with a grateful heart. As a result, they strengthen our faith and remind us of His goodness. As we lift our hearts to the Lord, we make room for Him to move in our lives, answer prayer, and reveal His faithfulness.

Every answered prayer becomes a testimony of His love. In addition, it becomes a beacon of hope for those in need.

Thanksgiving Reminds Us of God’s Faithfulness

In Psalm 138:2, we’re reminded to come before the Lord with thankful hearts and praise Him for His unfailing love, His faithfulness, and the truth of His Word. Charles Spurgeon’s reflections in The Treasury of David also highlight the richness of praise throughout the Psalms.

David’s example shows us what wholehearted worship can look like in everyday life. Therefore, his vow to worship the Lord was more than a habit; it was a personal response to God’s love and faithfulness.

Through praise and worship, we remember why we glorify God. At the same time, we strengthen our faith and deepen our relationship with Him.

Praise and Worship as a Sacrifice of Love

Praise as a Freewill Offering

The Bible says it is good to praise the Lord. For this reason, praise and worship are due Him. Our praise is a freewill offering and a sacrifice of love. (Psalm 54:6).

Worship That Honors God’s Goodness

When we worship God, we glorify Him for His goodness. Likewise, when we praise God, we honor Him for His faithfulness. God is not only good, but consistently good at all times.

Life is challenging, but you can overcome obstacles by offering your praise to God.

Honor God Through Daily Praise and Worship

Make Time for Daily Worship

We devote much of our day to daily responsibilities. Even so, when we offer the sacrifice of praise to God, it costs us something.

That is part of the wonder of praise and worship. Indeed, the miracle happens in the offering.

It takes time for praise and worship each day, but it is time well spent. Over time, even fifteen minutes of worship can help quiet distractions and refocus your heart on God.

Praise also prepares our hearts for prayer. Furthermore, God loves the praises of His people.

Begin the Day with Praise and Prayer

Before you begin your busy day, take fifteen minutes to humble yourself before the Lord. Then, lift your hands and praise and worship God for who He is and all He has done.

A Prayer of Praise and Worship

Finally, as you reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness, take a moment to turn your praise into prayer.

Let these words guide your heart as you honor Him with gratitude, humility, and love.

Heavenly Father, help me understand the wonder of praise and worship. Today, I lift my hands and voice to You in praise for all You have done for me. Accept this offering of worship as my sacrifice of love.
