Thank God for Christmas Day is a Christian Christmas poem that celebrates the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. On this holy day, we remember the Savior’s humble birth in Bethlehem. We rejoice in the hope, peace, love, and redemption found in Jesus Christ. More than a season of gifts and gatherings, Christmas is a time to give thanks to God for sending His Son and to reflect on the eternal joy His coming brings to the world.
I wrote “Thank God for Christmas Day” as a heartfelt Christian poem honoring the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. It is a message of joy for my readers on Christmas Day, written to inspire faith, gratitude, and reflection on God’s greatest gift to the world. Inspired by Willie Torres Jr., this poem celebrates the hope, peace, and redemption found in Jesus Christ and reminds us why this holy season matters so deeply.
‘Thank God for Christmas Day’

Christmas is more than a holiday.
It’s the day the Savior was born.
He was born in a manger, the Bible says,
To take away our sin and scorn.
Christ came to Earth to set the captives free,
Prison doors opened wide for you and me.
The baby anointed to open blind eyes,
He also came to make the foolish wise.
Thank God for Christmas Day.

His birth was quite a surprise to some,
But it didn’t surprise everyone.
For out in the field where shepherds lay,
The darkness of night turned as bright as the day.
His star shone bright through the darkness of night,
Shining bright for all to see.
For the wise men traveling, it lit the way,
As they came from the East to celebrate.
Thank God for Christmas Day.

The angels from heaven announced His birth,
For no one on Earth could perceive His worth.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
And for all humanity, that was a plus.
He’s the only child who was born to die,
And now we all know the reason why,
God sent His Son to Earth to die,
For ungrateful souls like you and I.
Thank God for Christmas Day.

As we gather with family to celebrate,
A day that is like no other day,
Let us remember the reason for the season,
For Christmas is not just a holiday.
It’s the day God sent His Son to Earth,
To pay the price no one could pay,
So as my grandma would so often say,
Thank God for Christmas Day.
Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas

Amen 🙏 Brother. I’m truly honored by your mention, and I rejoice that God’s work connects our hearts in His truth. 🙏
Your poem beautifully captures the heart of Christmas. Christ coming in humility to bring Salvation, Hope, and Light to a dark world.
May it continue to inspire and draw many closer to Jesus.
Merry Christmas, my Brother. 🎄✝️
Thank you, Willie. You have truly been an inspiration to me. I am not a poet, but you inspired the poetic side of me that I didn’t know existed. Like you, I thank God for connecting our hearts to share Jesus to the world. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you as well, my brother from another mother.
