Are you good with not knowing what God is up to? Or do you have all the details about everything God is doing in your life? When God prompts you to do something, do you need to know all the answers beforehand? It’s like when you’re at a crossroads in life, unsure of which path to take. Where am I going? What am I going to eat along the way? Where will I stay when I get there? God is not big on sharing the details of His plans. So, when you walk with God, you’ve got to be good with not knowing.
“By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” This is the kind of faith we should aspire to, which trusts in God’s plan without needing all the details.”
Hebrews 11:8 [NKJV]
We Don’t Always Understand What God is Doing
When God told Abraham to leave the country of his birth, he did so without question. Abraham was good with not knowing the fine details. He packed his things and started his journey. Although God did not give him the details of the pilgrimage, Abraham was okay with that. Abraham did not understand where God was taking him or what He would require of him, but yet, he obeyed.
When you ask God to intervene in your situation, are you good with not knowing all the details of His plan? Remember, if God gave you all the details, you might not act. We must trust in God’s righteous judgments and allow Him to guide us safely to the other side of our struggles.
We can be sure of this: God loves us dearly and has a bright future in store for us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Even if we don’t know all the details of God’s plan, we can have faith that it is a plan for our good and accept that He loves us just as we are. Everything will work out according to your faith.
