In this Joshua 10 devotional, we are reminded that God has given us precious promises. Joshua 10:24-25 shows us how to take hold of them by faith. Because every promise of God in Christ is yes, and amen, we can walk in courage, freedom, healing, and victory. This happens as we stand firmly on what He has already spoken.
In Joshua 10, Joshua was on a mission to take the land God had promised. He marched all night from Gilgal to Gibeon and caught the armies of the five kings by surprise. When the kings fled and hid in a cave, Joshua told his men to seal the entrance with large stones. Then he told them to continue pursuing the enemy.
After the battle, Joshua returned to the cave and ordered the five kings to be brought out. Then he told his men, “Come near and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” In that moment, Joshua was teaching them not to fear, but to be strong and courageous. So he declared that this is what the Lord would do to every enemy they would face.
Stand in Faith and Take Hold of God’s Promises
This Joshua 10 devotional reminds us that spiritual warfare is real and that our battle is not against flesh and blood. As Ephesians 6:12 teaches, we wrestle against spiritual enemies. For this reason, we must stand in faith, stay rooted in God’s Word, and trust His power to overcome every attack of the enemy.
God promised you health, freedom, courage, and victory. This Joshua 10 devotional encourages you to take hold of God’s promises by faith. Matthew 11:12 reminds us that the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. So do not shrink back—stand in faith, resist spiritual opposition, and put your foot on every promise God has given you in Christ.
The takeaway from this Joshua 10 devotional is simple: do not back down from the promises of God. Stand in faith, resist fear, and remember that the same God who gave Joshua victory will also strengthen you. He will help you overcome every challenge and walk boldly in all He has spoken over your life.
Dear Lord, thank You for every promise You have given me in Christ. Strengthen my heart to stand in faith, walk in courage, and overcome every work of the enemy. Teach me how to fight the good fight of faith so I can take hold of all You have prepared for me. Today, I choose to resist spiritual opposition, put my foot on every promise You have spoken over my life, and trust You for victory, freedom, healing, and restoration. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
