Love Pleases God

We know love pleases God. In John 13:34, Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

It is heartbreaking to see so many people in need today. On almost every corner, someone is panhandling for food. The other day, I drove through an area where five families on the same block had been evicted.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Annual Homelessness Assessment Report shows that homelessness and housing instability remain serious concerns across the nation.

But for the grace of God, the same thing—or something worse—could happen to you or me.

Jesus teaches us to give from a sincere heart, not from a desire for others to notice or praise us. When we help people quietly and humbly, God sees our secret acts of kindness and honors the love behind them.

When Love Becomes Action

Thank God for people who are willing to help others out of pure love. Love pleases God. Now is the perfect time to sow into the kingdom of God by helping someone in need. Hebrews 13:16 teaches us that God is pleased when we remember to do good, share what we have, and offer our acts of kindness as sincere sacrifices from the heart.

However, the reason for your charitable deed matters to God. Some people give so others can see them. Others give for personal or political gain.

Let your charitable deed be done out of love. Then you may reap the reward of your service.

God Will Supply Your Needs

Perhaps you need God to do something for you. God knows what you need. Your labor of love pleases Him. He also knows that you have needs.

If you continue to trust God, the Bible says, “God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

God uses people to help people. When you help someone else, God will send someone to help you. He says,

Jesus teaches that when we give generously, God has a way of allowing generosity to return to us in abundance. What we release from a sincere heart can come back as more than enough—overflowing blessing, provision, and help through others.

Remember, do not do your charitable deeds before people to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Your labor of love pleases God when it comes from your heart.

Ask yourself: Who has God placed near me that I can help quietly and sincerely this week?

Father God, I pray that today You will lead me to someone who needs my help. Please provide abundantly so I always have enough to help someone else. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
