“And she ate and was satisfied.”
— Ruth 2:14 [NKJV]
Jesus is the Bread of Life that brings salvation and healing. He is the ultimate source of fulfillment and nourishment. The Scripture says in Ruth 2:14 that Ruth ate and was satisfied at Boaz’s table. Likewise, we can also find true nourishment at God’s table. This nourishment comes from the Bread that Jesus provides. No one departs hungry when Jesus hosts the meal; His table is a place of abundance. Each day, Jesus fills us with His life-giving truth, enriching our spirits and fortifying our faith. By partaking in His bounty, He nourishes us with grace. This grace satisfies us. It inspires us to embrace our journey with renewed passion and purpose.
Like Ruth, who ate and was satisfied, we find satisfaction when we digest the Bread of Life. Whenever the accuser brings our flaws into the light, the Bread of Life provides an unwavering source of comfort. His promises revitalize our confidence and remind us of His steadfast love.
Spiritual Nourishment
When I eat, the Bread satisfies me, and I understand what it means to be truly hungry. When I eat Jesus’ bread, I am continually amazed. The Bread of Life fills my thoughts with perfect peace each morning. I never feel hungry when I consume my daily bread, which brings me a profound sense of calm and tranquility.
Now, I grasp the profound meaning behind the Lord’s instruction to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Our daily bread extends beyond mere physical sustenance; it also embodies the essence of our spiritual nourishment. You can only find this sacred nourishment in the Bread of Life—Jesus Himself.
Everyone knows when they are hungry. When you recognize that you are spiritually hungry, feed on the Bread of Life. The Bible says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8). Experience His nourishment for yourself. Today, feast on the Bread of Life, and you, like Ruth and I, will eat and be satisfied.
