Have you ever felt weak, inadequate, and frightened? Do not be intimidated by things you fear. Reflect on the promise of God’s presence and how it brings strength and courage in overcoming life’s challenges.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
— Joshua 1:9 NKJV
When Moses died, God anointed Joshua to take his place. Joshua had the threefold task of completing the job that Moses started. He was to lead God’s people into the promised land, defeat the enemy, and possess the promised inheritance. God promised to be with him, but God did not tell Joshua how He would accomplish these things. All Joshua had to go on was the promise of God’s presence.
Joshua is a type of Jesus Christ, the Captain of our salvation (Hebrews 2:10). Christ has defeated our enemy and now shares His spiritual inheritance with us. Like Joshua, we have the promise of God’s presence: “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). Understanding the promise of God always being present helps us live on His promises, not His explanations. God’s promises are all we need to guarantee victory. Romans 8:31 says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?”
God is Our Protector
God knows all about your feelings of personal weakness and fear. Therefore, He says, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you.” The Lord is our shield. He is our protector, surrounding us with His favor. Therefore, do not be intimidated by your situation. Stand on God’s promises. When you trust God, you will live by faith; by faith, you have the assurance that God will give you the directions you need when you need them.
Ephesians 1:3 says, “God has given you all spiritual blessings in Christ.” He has set before you an open door that nobody can close (Revelation 3:8). By faith, walk through that door and possess it. Therefore, be strong and courageous. Remember that you have this promise: God is our protector and He is always present, so if God is with us, it is impossible to fail.
Thank You, Father, for the unwavering promise of Your presence. As long as You are with me, I know I cannot fail.

The fact that God in this Scripture ackowledges, in fact COMMANDS US (The Believer) of our innate capacity to BE STRONG should not be taken for granted. Thank you for sharing my favorite Scripture!
Yes Johnny, we should never take it lightly when God commands us to be strong, for He is always with us. And if God is for us, no one can stand against us. Thank you for reading.
His Holy presence is so DIVINE!
His presence can be sensed by the peace that He brings.
According to Scripture, even His peace surpasses our little minds comprehension, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”(John 14:27).
Yes sir. Nothing can compare to the peace of God.
