“Who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father.”
— Galatians 1:4
Our world is full of cruelty, temptation, tragedy, deception, murder, and exploitation. Once, we were slaves to the world and its desires. But God saved us for a purpose. Therefore, we have hope stored up in heaven. God planned all along to save us by the blood of His Son, Jesus. The animal slain in the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve’s sins is a picture of Jesus. Because of what Jesus accomplished at the cross, God rescued you and me from the power of this present evil world. While God rescued us from the world, He did not remove us from it. The good news is we are no longer slaves to the world.
Understanding God’s Plan for Your Life
God saved us for a purpose – His purpose. That means that we are no longer living for the pleasures of the world. When we focus on worldly desires and values over biblical principles, we are living for the world. When we live for God, we focus on:
- Love – God has called us to love our haters, because love pleases God.
- Humility – it teaches us to humble ourselves before God.
- Compassion – a display of Jesus’ character.
- Kindness – because it is the way we exhibit love, forgive others, and live out our faith in a way that glorifies God.
Does your life reflect thanks for being freed from the world’s control and its harmful influences? Have you completely shifted your allegiance from this world to Christ? Do you understand God’s salvation plan? If you can answer “yes” to these questions, you know that God saved you for a reason. If not, think about this: No one forced Jesus to die for you. God would never, could never, and didn’t compel an innocent, holy being to do such a thing. Jesus chose to perform the great act of atonement and endure the pain and shame needed to save us. He willingly did it for you.
God’s Salvation Plan
God’s salvation plan involves our active participation and response to His grace. Here’s how we fit into it:
- Spreading the Word: When we accept God’s salvation plan, He desires that we share the good news of salvation with others, inviting them to experience the transformative power of God’s love (Mark 5:18-19).
- Acceptance of Jesus: We must acknowledge Jesus as our Savior, recognizing His sacrifice as the means of our redemption and reconciliation with God.
- Repentance: We need to turn away from our sinful ways and embrace a life aligned with God’s will, seeking to live according to His principles.
- Faith: We must trust in God’s promises and His plan for our lives, knowing that He has a purpose for each of us.
- Obedience: When we obey God’s commandments, we demonstrate our love and commitment to Him through our actions and choices.
God’s plan for your life originated in His divine purpose. It has been executed in accordance with God’s holy will. If in accordance with His will, then it is good and is worthy of your acceptance. By faith, step into your purpose today.
Lord Jesus, thank You for redeeming my life. Please help me to live worthy of you, that I may step into my purpose.
