The Living Word
Returning to biblical truth begins with reading the Bible as more than a familiar religious book. It is the living Word of God, filled with truth, wisdom, warning, and hope.
Scripture reveals God’s character, purposes, and promises. It helps us understand how to live righteously in the times we live in. The Bible gives us a firm foundation for discernment and a steady guide for faithful living.
Three Convictions
This appeal rests on three convictions: Scripture helps us discern the times, warns us where rejecting truth leads, and shows us the way back to God through humility, repentance, and faithful living.
My plea is simple: read the Bible with humility, measure the news of our age against its truth, and let God’s Word shape how we live, love, and respond to hardship.
Returning to God’s Word in Uncertain Times
The Bible helps us understand the times. It teaches us to recognize what reflects God’s character and what leads us away from Him.
Scripture grounds us when the world feels uncertain and gives us wisdom for daily choices. Those who open its pages with humble hearts can discover that God’s Word still speaks clearly. It points toward the hope He has prepared for those who trust Him.
A Serious Warning and a Hopeful Invitation
Scripture’s guidance also carries a serious warning. Unless our hearts change, the world is heading toward a disastrous end.
Political promises, material progress, and human effort alone cannot produce lasting renewal. True change begins when people turn from pride, selfishness, and indifference. It begins when they return to God with humility and repentance.
Biblical Truth and Repentance: Warning and Invitation
When we reject God’s truth, we lose the moral compass that teaches us to love one another, seek justice, extend mercy, and value what is good.
Yet Scripture’s warning is also filled with hope. If we listen, repent, and allow God to transform us, healing can begin. Our lives, families, and communities can move toward restoration rather than destruction.
The Choice Before Us
The choice before us is urgent. Each person must decide whether to continue down a path of separation from God or follow the way of truth, righteousness, and life.
The rising cost of food and gasoline, the burdens facing families, and widespread uncertainty should move us toward compassion, honest reflection, and wise action. Yet some voices still insist that all is well. The struggles around us call for truth, not empty reassurance.
Jeremiah’s Warning
The prophet Jeremiah confronted the same temptation in his own time. Leaders proclaimed “peace” while refusing to face the people’s rebellion and spiritual wounds.
Jeremiah 6:13–16 and Jeremiah 8:8–12 remind us that reassuring words cannot produce genuine peace. We must first acknowledge and address underlying sin.
The Way to Biblical Truth and Repentance
Honest recognition is the first step toward restoration. Returning to biblical truth requires us to stop hiding our wounds behind comforting words.
Instead, we must seek God’s wisdom and the courage to live by His truth. The warning is serious, but hope remains. Humility and repentance open the way toward healing and genuine peace.
Remain Grounded in Truth
2 Timothy 4:1-5 warns that a time will come when many people will no longer endure the truth. They will choose teachings that affirm their desires and rely on personal opinion instead of God’s wisdom.
Their standard will be whatever seems right to each individual, turning correction into offense and preference into authority.
Living by Scripture with Discernment
When truth becomes a matter of personal preference, confusion grows, and moral boundaries weaken. People also lose sight of their responsibility to God and one another.
We see this danger whenever pride replaces humility, self-interest overcomes compassion, and deception feels more comfortable than correction.
For this reason, returning to biblical truth requires us to remain grounded in Scripture, test what we hear, and ask God for discernment. His Word calls us not only to recognize truth, but also to live by it with courage, love, mercy, and faithfulness.
Responding Together in Faith
This is a time to come together, not retreat into fear or division. Let us meet hardship with compassion, patience, courage, and faith.
Romans 12:1–2 calls us to offer our lives to God and be transformed by renewing our minds. Begin today: open Scripture, pray honestly, and ask God to reveal what must change.
Begin today: open Scripture, pray honestly, and ask God to reveal what must change. Encourage your family, check on a neighbor, share with someone in need, forgive where bitterness has taken root, and speak the truth with love.
Small acts of obedience can become signs of renewal. When we humble ourselves, repent, and serve one another, we show that hardship does not have the final word. God is still at work, and hope can still shine—even in the darkest times.
