As Hurricane Ida nears the Louisiana coast in New Orleans, my neighbors and I are trusting God to bring us safely through Hurricane Ida. We are praying that our city will survive the onslaught of this monstrous storm. Trusting through Hurricane Ida, we hope for the best outcome.

On the sixteenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the worst storm to impact New Orleans, the people of New Orleans are preparing for another killer hurricane. Having trust in God through Hurricane Ida is essential for our community. Hurricane Ida will land this afternoon on the southern coast of Louisiana as a Category 5 hurricane. The storm is packing winds of 155mph. It is the strongest storm to make landfall in Louisiana’s history. Nevertheless, during Hurricane Ida, the people of New Orleans will continue to have faith in God. We are grateful for your support and ask you to join us in praying for our safety and the safety of all the residents of southern Louisiana through this challenging time.

Stand on the Word of God

The Bible says that as believers, we have the same faith as God. “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed, and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13).

Jesus did that when He and His disciples encountered a terrible storm. Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves. He told the wind to be quiet and the sea to be still, and they obeyed Him. Trusting through Hurricane Ida, we draw inspiration from how Jesus taught His disciples to have faith in God. He told them to speak to the problem, and the problem would have to obey them. Jesus used the analogy of a mountain to explain the power of faith. Looking at the mountain before them, Jesus told His disciples that if they spoke to the mountain and told it to be uprooted and cast into the sea, and they did not doubt, it would be uprooted (Mark 11:24).

We will be in the midst of this terrible storm in approximately five hours. Please stand with us in prayer as we prepare for Hurricane Ida. Remember, all things are possible if you believe, and believing faith speaks. Together, trusting through Hurricane Ida, we uphold each other in faith and courage.
