Carrying Our Burdens

Psalm 68 reminds us to praise the Lord, our Savior. He faithfully carries our burdens each day and gives us strength for the journey. — Psalm 68:19

There were many times when I felt completely alone under the weight of life’s struggles. In those moments, it seemed as though the Lord had left me to struggle on my own. Yet over time, I came to understand that feelings do not always tell the full truth.

God’s Word teaches us to walk by faith, not by what we see or feel. Even when our emotions suggest otherwise, faith reminds us that God is present, compassionate, and faithful.

The Lord’s Role in Carrying Our Burdens

Jesus taught His disciples an important lesson about following Him. He said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

This call to discipleship involves surrender, obedience, and trust. It does not mean we are expected to carry life’s burdens apart from Him.

Jesus also reassured us by declaring His yoke is easy, and His burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). This promise reminds us that the Lord does not abandon us in seasons of hardship.

Instead, He strengthens us, walks with us, and gives grace for what feels too heavy to bear. When we take up our cross and follow Him, we are not isolated in our struggles. We belong to Christ, and because He is with us, He helps carry the load.

We are soldiers in training, and we must trust the training if we are to be victorious. In seasons of struggle, we can stand on the truth that God is with us.

His comfort and help are always available. He reminds us that we are never left to carry the weight of life alone.

Dear God, I trust that my life is in Your hands and that You are carrying the weight of my burdens. When they feel too heavy for me, help me remember that I do not have to bear them alone.
