It’s a beautiful day full of opportunities, and God wants you to know that today is your day of opportunity. Our Heavenly Father gives faith, grace, and opportunity to everyone. He opens doors that no one else can and closes those that are not meant for us. But when He opens a door, we must seize the opportunity. Just like in the story of the paralyzed man at the Pool of Bethesda, who was given numerous opportunities over thirty-eight years to receive his healing, God is always there, offering opportunities to us`. We just need to be ready to take them.

Jesus Sought Opportunities to Serve

John 5:2-9, tells a story of Jesus healing a paralyzed man. It’s a beautiful day full of opportunities. Therefore, One day, Jesus showed up at the Pool. The pool’ name in Aramaic is Bethzatha. This pool was a congregating place for the lame, and anyone needing healing. Jesus was seeking an opportunity to glorify God. When Jesus saw the man lying there, He knew he had already been in that condition for a long time. Jesus asked, “Do you want to be made well?” The man answered, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus responded, “Rise, take up your bed, and walk.” Immediately, the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

We Have Options, Choose Wisely

God knows who you are and understands how long you have been in your current situation. Today is your day of opportunity; therefore, do not harden your heart. Today is your day to receive that thing, that person, that miracle that you have been praying for. But you have got to stop blaming others. Stop saying things like, “I could have been a lot further in life if my daddy had supported me more.” And, “I would have finished my education, but I didn’t have anyone to help me with my children.” Don’t let your life become your bed. Today is your day of opportunity. You can do what the paralytic man did. You can get up, pick up your life, and move on.
