“The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.”
Hosea 3:1 [NIV]

Looking back on my life, I can’t help but think of the Lord’s love. I am speechless when I consider how He walked with me through the valley of the shadow of death.

Take a moment to reflect on your life and meditate on the love of the Lord. Think of how the Lord has led you in your wilderness. Think of how He has fed and clothed you every day. Consider how He has tolerated your evil ways, your murmuring, and your desires for the things of this world.

Moreover, contemplate the profound love of the Lord. Think of how He has miraculously opened the rock to give refreshing water. Also, reflect on how He has nourished you with heavenly manna. Consider the unwavering grace that has sustained you through every trial. Think of how His precious blood forgave all your sins and how His rod and staff offered comfort and guidance.

His Passion Runs Deep

Now, take a moment to consider His love for you in the future. Remember that Christ’s covenant and His blood forgive your past sins and encompass your future shortcomings. Embrace the eternal love of the Lord that pardons you continually and never ceases.

Our Lord is the Alpha and Omega; He is the first and shall be the last. As you pass through your valley of the shadow of death, the Lord’s love protects you. You do not need to fear evil, because He is with you. You need not worry when you stand in the cold floods of Jordan. Not even death can separate you from the Lord’s love.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death; nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:38-39

Finally, take a moment to think: Is your love for Jesus renewed? Don’t these thoughts inspire you to love Him more? When you meditate on His everlasting love, your heart will ignite. You will feel a desire to deepen your love for Him.

Dear God, I thank You for Your unfailing love. Now I know nothing can separate me from the love that You have for me in Christ.
