Jesus was God’s greatest gift to the world. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.” Jesus was born to save humanity; Jesus was also born to die. But had He remained dead, His birth and death would have certainly been for nothing. However, He rose from the grave.
God’s love permeated the world until Adam fell. Sin entered the world through Adam’s disobedience, bringing the sickness, pain, death, and tears that we experience today. The Bible says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Well, friends, that morning of joy dawned when He triumphantly rose from the grave, conquering death and bringing us eternal life. His victory over death is our triumph, a cause for celebration and hope.
The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Messiah, has sealed the deal. By faith, we are free. Jesus has delivered us from sickness and disease. By His stripes, we were healed. He carried our pain when He rose from the grave. Death could not hold Him, and it will not hold us. For if we died with Him, we have risen with Him. His resurrection promises us eternal life, a comforting truth in our faith.
Resurrection Sunday, or Easter, is a sacred holiday celebrated by Christians worldwide. It is a time to reflect on the profound significance of Jesus’s resurrection, which signals a new order. By faith, all things are new, all because He rose from the grave.
Celebrate Resurrection Life
As you celebrate Resurrection Sunday, don’t let it only be another holiday celebration. Remember the reason for the celebration. Celebrate because He rose from the grave. “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? Death could not harm Him, and the grave could not hold Him. They led Him away to die, but He got up!
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I thank You not only because You gave Your life for me but also because You got up from the grave, ushering in a new beginning for all believers. I thank You for the renewal and transformation You bring. Everything about me is new. All of my old habits, my unhealthy and ungodly desires, died when You died. I believe You conquered death, so I might also live again with You. For as You are, so am I in this world. Amen. This resurrection brings a fresh start, a renewal of faith and life.
